Eder Lomba Lopez de Ipiña repeats Rainman 9b at Malham
On Friday 13 May 2022 Basque rock climber Eder Lomba Lopez de Ipiña made he first repeat of Rainman, at 9b the hardest sport climb in Britain and located at Malham.

After 46 days of effort, last Friday 28-year-old, Sheffield-based Basque climber Eder Lomba Lopez de Ipiña made the first repeat of Rainman at Malham Cove in England. Freed in 2017 by Steve McClure, Rainman was the first - and currently only - sports climb in the UK to be graded 9b. Lomba’s previous best routes at Malham were Batman 9a/+ and Rainshadow 9a, with which it shares sections.
