Ferrino partners with the CAI Eagle Team expedition to Patagonia
Officially launched at the beginning of February, the expedition is now entering its most crucial phase: after a few days of preparation in El Chaltén, the team is ready to take on the imposing granite walls of the Patagonian mountains. Their goals include the region’s most iconic peaks: Cerro Torre, Fitz Roy, and Cerro Piergiorgio.
To support them, Ferrino has provided backpacks from the Instinct line, down sleeping bags from the Diable line, and the Extreme and Maverick tents, top-of-the-line models for mountaineering and expedition adventures.
CAI Eagle Team: A Project of Growth and Training
The CAI Eagle Team was created as an initiative of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) to offer young alpinists a growth path through high-level experiences under the guidance of industry experts. The goal is to instill not only technical skills but also the core values of alpinism: teamwork, resilience, and deep respect for the mountains.
The six participants in this expedition are Alessandra Prato, Camilla Reggio, Marco Cordin, Luca Ducoli, Dario Eynard, and Giacomo Meliffi, selected among the rising talents of Italian alpinism. Leading them on this journey is Matteo Della Bordella, Ferrino athlete and internationally renowned alpinist, along with tutors Massimo Faletti, Silvia Loreggian, and Luca Schiera.
Expedition Goals: Between Challenge and Discovery
The team will split into three independent rope teams, each with specific objectives:
Cerro Torre: Massimo Faletti with Giacomo Meliffi and Marco Cordin
Fitz Roy: Silvia Loreggian with Alessandra Prato and Luca Ducoli
Cerro Piergiorgio: Matteo Della Bordella and Luca Schiera with Dario Eynard and Camilla Reggio. On Cerro Piergiorgio, Della Bordella and his team are aiming to attempt a new route.
Ferrino’s Commitment to Young Alpinists
Ferrino has always believed in young talent and their ability to push beyond the boundaries of Italian and international alpinism.
"Supporting the CAI Eagle Team in their Patagonia expedition is a great source of pride for us. The CAI Eagle Team is a true flagship for our country, and we are delighted to support this project, born from the collaboration between CAI and our athlete Matteo Della Bordella" Anna Ferrino, CEO
Ferrino has a long tradition of supporting major mountaineering endeavors, accompanying explorers and climbers on epic expeditions. This is not the first time that young alpinists backed by the Turin-based company have left their mark on history: just think of Reinhold Messner, who began collaborating with Ferrino long before becoming the iconic face of world alpinism.
“A huge good luck to the CAI Eagle Team! May your passion always lead you higher, with safety as the top priority”.

It was 1870 and Cesare Ferrino began production of the fabric waterproofing formula that he had discovered, tested and perfected over time, on an industrial scale. It was a winning idea. Ferrino's story began here.
