Laura Rogora repeats Underground, first female ascent of historical testpiece at Massone

After Laura Rogora's recent spectacular performance on Pure Dreaming Plus, which made her the first Italian woman to climb 9a+, repeating a 9a might seem almost trivial and taken for granted, but nothing could be further fro the truth.
Especially when the route in question is Underground, the huge roof at Massone on the outskirts of Arco freed in 1998 by Manfred Stuffer from Val Gardena. With its extremely burley moves this is one of the historic high-end climbs, initially graded 8c+ but subsequently upgraded to 9a after early repeats by Yuji Hirayama, Tomas Mrazek and Christian Bindhammer.
Over the years Underground has confirmed its status as one of the most sought-after 9a’s and now the unstoppable 19-year-old has checked in with the long-awaited first female ascent. While it’s true that she’s already climbed the first section which is shared with Pure Dreaming Plus, the exit of Underground is rock solid and success can never be taken for granted...
