After five days of preparation, on 12 July 2017, Russia's Valery Rozov leapt from an altitude of 6725m off Huascaran, at 6768m the highest mountain in Peru. In 2016 the 52-year-old set a base jump record by leaping from 7700m off Cho Oyu and beating his previous record, set at 7220 meters on the North Face of Everest. Other spectacular jumps include Shivling, Grand Pilier d'Angle on Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro.
