An Italian dream team of alpinists comprised of Matteo Della Bordella, François Cazzanelli and Francesco Ratti has just spent two days on the wild, Italian side of Mont Blanc establishing a new rock climb on the iconic Red Pillar of Brouillard.

This is the first time ever that the trio has climbed together and, after setting off early on 31 June to reach the base of the wall, they have started to forge the new line up “one of the most beautiful towers on the south side of Mont Blanc.” After a bivouac on the face they completed the 300m line the next day.

As soon as possible the trio will return to free all the pitches. At present there is not much other information to go on apart from one important detail: the climbing so incredible that it’s given the route its name: Incroyable.

The last two days I teamed up with @francoiscazzanelli and @fran.ratti and the result was a real blast - Opening a new route on the Red pillar of Brouillard, such an iconic pillar full of history, made of perfect red granite and located in one of the most dramatic places of the massif was a dream. It was a big satisfaction turning this dream into reality following the style I like most and with two psyched and strong partners! - Everything was so incredible that I also learned a word in French "Incroyable"... I had it in mind and said it loud so many times that it became the name of our new route - We'll go back soon to try the free ascent and provide you some more details about this awesome adventure! - @karpos @kong.italy @vibram @scarpaspa @dfsportspecialist @ragnidilecco @evileye.eyewear
