Limitless Madness on Mt. Yerupaja, Peru
On 28-30 July Matevz Kramer, Matej Mejovsek and Tadej Zorman made the first ascent of Limitless Madness on Mt. Yerupaja, Cordilliera Huayhuash, Peru
At the end of July a three-man Slovenian expedition to Peru climbed an impressive new route up the NE Face of Mt. Yerupaja (6617 m), Cordilliera Huayhuash. Matevz Kramer, Matej Mejovsek and Tadej Zorman spent 26 hours forging their way up the 1900m line, grading Limitless Madness VI, WI6, 5c. The trio enjoyed stable and sunny weather conditions but, setting out on 26 July, battled hard against falling rocks and seracs as they made their way up to the summit. The face was last climbed in 1977. photo: during the ascent of Limitless Madness (arch. Matej Mejovsek) |
