Léo Billon & Benjamin Védrines complete Drus-Droites-Jorasses 3 day winter trilogy
French mountaineers Léo Billon and Benjamin Védrines have completed what has been defined as a "quantum leap" in mountaineering, climbing the north faces of the Drus, Les Droites and the Grandes Jorasses in just three days and in the middle of winter.
Following on from their Grandes Jorasses, Eiger and Matterhorn trilogy carried out with Sébastien Ratel in winter 2022, Billon and Védrines have now upped the ante, enchaining Voie des Guides (850m, ED+, M8+) on Petit Dru, the Rhem-Vimal (1000 m, M7/M8) on Les Droites, and then No Siesta on the Grandes Jorasses. Voie des Guides was climbed on 28 January in 9:57 hours, Rhem-Vimal on 29 January in 7:14 hours and No Siesta on 30 January in just 12 hours.
Three worldclass routes on three of the most emblematic peaks of the Mont Blanc massif, climbed one after the other and at an incredibly impressive pace. This feat was considered "unimaginable" only recently. More details will follow in due course, in the meantime chapeau to this next generation.
