Starting from the "big list" of 41 names published a few days ago and prepared by the organization, the jury has now selected seven alpinists in the running for the prestigious Italian award. The prize will go to the alpinist for the climbs carried out during 2013 and 2014, and also to the particular ‘vision’ demonstrated by the climbers.

The jury will meet on Friday, May 22 to choose the winner who will be celebrated that evening, during the award’s ceremony in lecco. The Jury is comprised of Mario Conti (president), Rolando Larcher, Rossano Libera, Simone Moro, Valery Babanov and Vinicio Stefanello.

The evening will be hosted by journalist and writer Alessandro Filippini and entrance, just as for all other Monti Sorgenti events, is free of charge. Films will be screened during the celebration that includes live music played by the Boz trio and guests.
