"Grandiose setting, total isolation..." these are the hallmarks of Follow the Gully, the new route established by Marcello Sanguineti (CAAI, www.clubalpinoaccademico.it), Sergio De Leo (CAAI, www.clubalpinoaccademico.it) and Christian Türk up the South Face of Barre des Ecrins. 300 intense metres up to M6 which with little ice can prove difficult to protect.
