Alex Txikon is quickly descending to base camp after having reached 7950 meters. He was ascending to Camp 4 at the South Col, but weather conditions have changed brusquely and winds at around 100 km/hour are expected up on the mountain.

Txikon has therefore decided to descend in order to keep all members of his expedition safe. At the moment they are at circa 5850 meters. The summit push was scheduled for Sunday 25 February, however, the weather window has not arrived as originally forecast.
