To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Trieste mountaineering club, in June 2008 Diego Cociancich, Stefano Zaleri and Marco Zebochin travelled to Ala Daglar mountain range in Turkey in search of virgin territory Located in southern Anatolia, this region seems to hold a special place in the hearts of Italian mountaineers in particular, as the likes of Maurizio Oviglia, Rolando Larcher, Mauro Florit and Marco Sterni (to name but four) have returned on numerous occasions.

Cociancich, Galerie and Zebochin repeated a series of existing multi-pitches, then established two of their own, Obelix 6b, 340m and L’armata Brancaleone 7a, 360m, reporting that the draw to the east proves irresistible.
