Route

A historic route, probably the most popular on the entire face, which has by now become a crag above 3500m. The fourth pitch is fantastic, and the upper section offers numerous escape routes.

Access
Take the Aiguille du Midi cable car, then descend briefly on foot. Alternativley, if coming from Punta Helbronner, cross the Vallée Blanche. Descent
Abseil more or less down the line of ascent. There are plenty of belays - choose the safest! Gear
Set of nuts and friends up to size 2.

Ho salito la Rèbuffat con il mio amico Pier e L'inossidabile Andreina.Il tempo è stato ottimo,caldo fino a metà via ma dopo sono arrivate le nuvole e abbiamo scalato avvolti da una nebbiolina gelida.Era la prima volta per me,non ero mai stato lassù ed era la seconda esperienza in alta montagna.Sono salito da primo di cordata per tutta la via e puntualmente mi sono perso...Meglio però perche siamo finiti tutto a sinistra dopo essere scesi di poco tra roccette e ci siamo trovati di fronte un bellissimo muro solcato da due fessure verticali e chiuso da un diedro a destra poco invitante e cosi scelsi la fessura di sinistra completamente da proteggere.Fantastico tiro che ti fa spuntare proprio sopra le ringhiere dell'arrivo della funivia per poi proseguire a destra con un passaggio aereo. Mi piacerebbe sapere dove sono finito,chi mi sa dire qualcosa?Grazie ciao.

Exhilarating. Tough opening 6a, and not too hard for most of it, until the very end, where the excellent guide lead us to exit on the right, with a very tough 6b. Better be prepared and in shape, my forearms were close to cramps at the end. Great fun. What a view! South face allowed climbing in t-shirt in the bright sun.

Perfect rock. The direct start is 6a++. The last 2 lengths are quite far to the left and seem to be climbed seldom. Al the Cham guide go straigh up instead of going left. The last pitch is a offwidth crack (bolts of a neighbouring route can be used - shame!)

E' la seconda volta che ripeto questa via bellissima dopo vent'anni esatti.Il granito è meraviglioso, anche se nel tiro della fessura a S comincia a essere un pò consumato.Rimane comunque un'arrampicata meravigliosa, utili una serie di nuts e friend fino al 2 1/2.Vivamente consiglista l'uscita Cretton.Io sono partito con le scarpette ai piedi, ho indossato un paio di ghettoni avvolgenti sui quali ho legato le grappette da ghiaccio a 4 punte.Quindi il sacco era davvero leggero, e una volta arrivato fuori dalla via non ho fatto altro che prendere la finivia e scendere a Chamonix per l'ora di pranzo.E' stato bellissimo.
