Less than a week to Melloblocco!

The 11th Melloblocco begins on 1 May 2014. Over 1700 climbers have pre-registered for the world's most international bouldering meeting that will take place in Valmasino - Val di Mello, Italy, until 4 May 2014.

The countdown has begun to Melloblocco and preparations up in the valley are almost complete. While the finishing touches are currently being added to the new areas and the new boulder problems, Simone Pedeferri has already painted what has come to be known as the Treasure Map, the topo given to all participants that depicts the new problems and areas that can be climbed as of next Thursday.

In truth the meeting begins a day earlier, on Wednesday 30 April, with the official start and above all with the opening of the registration desk that will have plenty to do in the next few days: more than 1700 climbers have already pre-registered and more are expected in the coming days. Almost 2000 people from all over the world, from Brazil and Columbia to Russia and Indonesia via almost all countries in Europe. In short, as usual it'll be a beautiful mix of different languages and diverse backgrounds linked by a common denominator: bouldering.

Apart from climbing up pristine new granite problems and watching a long list of highly talented boulderers competing, those taking part in Melloblocco will also be able to enjoy a series of evening events and superb special guests. We'll examine the program in detail next week, in the meantime all we'll say is that those sharing their climbing experience in Val di Mello and Val Masino are the likes of Stefan Glowacz, Steve McClure, Jacopo Larcher, Stevie Haston, Mayan Smith-Gobat... the list is a long one.
