"Everything will start off from where we left it!" said Oswald Santin, Coordinator of the Organizing Committee. "The 25th edition of the Sellaronda Skimarathon will start on the 25th March 2022 at 6 pm from Corvara in Alta Badia – Santin continued – it will be a day to celebrate for all Sellaronda athletes who will finally be able to put their skis on again and let their skins slide along the slopes of the Dolomiti Superski slopes."

"Our collaboration with the Alta Badia, Arabba, Canazei and Selva di Val Gardena committees have not been spoiled at all by these two years of stop, in fact the motivation to organize the Sellaronda Skimarathon has received new momentum. Even our relationship with our main sponsor Dynafit has been confirmed and is ready for this new adventure".

The most famous night time ski-mountaineering race in the world is 42 kilometres long with 2700 metres of vertical height gain and it runs along the famous ski slopes which circumnavigate the Sella group. The Sellaronda athletes, after setting off from Corvara will tackle the Dolomite passes of Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena.

Corvara’s headquarters will be the Ice Stadium, just like in 2016, the finishing line will be situated inside the ice stadium. In 2019 the Sellaronda Skimarathon saw new records being broken, the first one was the number of athletes registering "sold out" in 33 minutes for the national teams and in 5 hours for the international teams.

The second record to be broken was the racing time. An extraordinary time by Filippo Barazzuol and William Boffelli who as well as setting the best time ever, broke the 3 hour barrier. The two winners after a very fast race crossed the finish line in 2:56’59’’. Even in the female race the French athlete Laetitia Roux together with the Italian athlete Martina Valmassoi, lowered the record by stopping the stop watches at 3:32’37’’.

Italian athletes can register for the race on January 3rd 2022 while on the 10th January 2022 the international athletes can register. There will be 650 bibs available.
