Salewa Rockshow: the final stages to win a place in climbing's paradise

More than 700 climbers took part in the April stages of the Salewa Rockshow 2014 and the month of May promises to be just as successful. Bouldering and fun are the key words of this event and the next Italian stages take place on Saturday 17 May in Rome and on 31 May at Verres (AO). The winners of each stage are then in the running for the final prize: the international camp at Magic Wood in Switzerland, the bouldering paradise.

The Salewa Rockshow 2014

Salewa

The sixth edition of the Salewa Rockshow bouldering event continues throughout May with the last two Italian Calling stages. The first takes place this weekend at Rome's Vertical Park: the first qualifying round begins at 14:00, the second an hour later. 19 boulders are up for grabs, while the finals are held on two problems for the Under 16 and on 3 for the Open category. The finalists have 4 minutes to atttempt each problem and the Under 16 Finals start at 18:30 while the Open begins at 19:30.

The final Italian stage of the Salewa Rockshow happens to coincide with the last day of the month, Saturday 31 May, and takes place at Verres, in the province of Aosta. The competition takes place at Topo Pazzo Climbing House and starts at 14:30 with the party dedicated to children aged Under 10, while registration and the actual competition begins at 17:00 for the categories Under and Over 16. The final and subsequent party starts at 20.00.

The best boulderer of each event will be awarded the title “Rock Calling Rookie” (Under 16) plus a prize, or “Rock Calling Over” (to those over 16 years of age.) These have the chance to take part in the international Rockshow Camp, but to do so they need to pass the final hurdle: the online vote.

Voting
The winners of each national Rockcalling will have their photos uploaded on the FB page and on the official Rockshow microsite. The community is then asked to vote for the photos and the ones with the most "Like" will qualify for the final.

International Rockshow Camp
From 18 to 20 July the climbers with the most likes from every country will join Salewa alpineXtrem team athletes, journalists and Salewa staff members at the International Rockshow Camp at Magic Wood in Switzerland, a real bouldering paradise.
