Stefano Ghisolfi repeats 'The Full Journey' (9b) at Margalef

Stefano Ghisolfi has secured the third ascent of The Full Journey, the 9b at Margalef in Spain established in 2022 by Alex Megos and repeated in 2023 by Jorge Díaz-Rullo. Located in the Racó de la Finestra sector, the route was bolted by England's Tom Bolger, who in April 2022 climbed the first part up to a large jug and a good rest, creating the 9a+ The Journey. Megos later added the extension, raising the grade to 9b.
Ghisolfi needed just 9 sessions, all this year, for the second repeat. Interestingly, the 31-year-old kept falling in the first part, but when he stuck the lower crux, he pushed on through all the way to second anchor.
In the past the Italian has climbed various hard routes at Margalef, including First Round, First Minute (9b) in 2017 and Perfecto Mundo (9b+) in 2018.
