Stefano Ghisolfi picture perfect on Perfecto Mundo at Margalef
Mission completed. With these words Stefano Ghisolfi announced on Instagram the moment he’d been dreaming of for months: his repeat of Perfecto Mundo at Margalef. This absolute extreme was bolted by Chris Sharma, then attempted simultaneously by Sharma, Ghisolfi and Alexander Megos and eventually freed by the German in May this year. Graded 9b+, this is one of only a handful of sports climbs this difficult and currently there is only one route harder, Silence at Flatanger in Norway.
Ghisolfi almost freed the climb in May and came close to repeating it during a recent trip to Spain a few weeks ago, but conditions were far from ideal. Now, after 32 days at Margalef, Ghisolfi has nailed his hardest climb to date that, after Adam Ondra, Chris Sharma and Alexander Megos, enables him to join the select club of climbers capable of sending 9b+.
