Ground-up and without compromises: this is Beat Kammerlander's chosen style when it comes to making first ascents in the mountains and in 1993 this resulted in Silbergeier, a true "symbol" and one of the most sought-after multi-pitch routes of its genre. Highest technical difficulties combine with beautiful but severe climbing coupled with long run-outs to reach the top of the IV Kirchlispitze and the first female ascent of this masterpiece was only carried in summer 2011 thanks to Swiss climber Nina Caprez. Here's a fun video documenting her ascent, as well as that of her partner Cedric Lachat.
