Sharma and Tribout Kalymnos Odyssey
Chris Sharma frees Lucky Lucka extension 8c at Odyssey, Kalymnos second go and repeats Draconian Devil 8b+, together with JB Tribout.
Chris Sharma is currently holidaying in one Greece's most famous climbing areas, Kalymnos. News just in from one of the island's main activists Aris Theodoropoulos is that the young American is on great form and has just sent the extension to Lucky Lucka at Odyssey second go! This outstanding line had been attempted unsuccessfully in the past by a series of strong climbers, and Sharma, who repeated Steve McClure's Draconian Devil 8b+ at Iannis second go, feels the Lucka extension to be 8c. Sharma is in good company: Frenchman JB Tribout has carried his late '80's and early '90's form straight on through to 2006, (read Les Specialistes 8b+ (Verdon), Just do it 5.14c (Smith Rock), Superplafond 8c+, (Volx) to name just three) by redpointing Draconian Devil 8b+ and the 8b power endurance route Gaia 8b. MInor detail: Tribout is 45! Chapeau!
