Michaela Kiersch's marvellous Margalef month
The last time Michaela Kiersch visited Spain she travelled to Siurana and spent much of her time concentrating on one route, the 9a+ La Rambla, which she repeated after almost a month of effort. This winter the 28-year-old pro climber and Doctor of occupational therapy decided to change approach and, after traveling to Margalef, instead spent most of her time trying a myriad of different routes. The result is an astounding ticklist, featured below, and capped by three of Margalef's most coveted climbs, the 8c+ Coma sant pere, and the 9a's Era Vella and Victimes del futur.
After her ascent of Era Vela Kiersch stated that she had just "Capped off one of my most successful sport climbing weeks", but it's probably no understatment to say that this is one of the most successful months of sport climbing ever by a woman.
