How do you measure a climbing day? With the routes climbed and boulders sent? So with the grades and climbing style? Or less empirically with fun, good company, the environment and the global experience? If we're honest, perhaps it's a mix of all these factors and it all depends obviously on a given moment and, more than your physical form, on the frame of mind you happen to be in that day.

The video below captures US climber Daniel Woods during his best bouldering day ever which took place last March during the Hueco Rock Rodeo 2012, that ' enlightening festival organised by climbers themselves to raise funds for the Hueco Tanks State Park so as to promote, conserve and improve the climbing in the historic area in Texas.

That day Woods was on form and in great company: Dave Graham, Sean McColl, Jorg Verhoeven and Katharina Saurwein to name but four of the hundreds of participants, and Woods took victory of this 19th edition by having fun and sending six problems up to... 8B+. Yes, a day he'll remember for quite a while.

The problems Daniel Woods sent for a total of 76 V points
Nagual (V13, 8B)
The Machinist (V14, 8B+)
Crook by the Book (V14, 8B+)
Phantom Limb V12, 8A+)
Full Monty (V12, 8A+)
Two Days With Gene (V11, 8A)

Bouldering grades
The V scale
was invented in Hueco and takes the initial of nickname "Vern" of one of America's most influential boulderers, John Sherman.
The Fontainbleau scale, as its name suggets, was developed in one of Europe's premier bouldering areas, in the homonimous forest on the outskirts of Paris.
