Full-blown 9a repointed by Alizée Dufraisse, the 29-year-old climber from Aix-en-Provence who completed an important project yesterday at Siurana in Spain: Estado critico. The route isn’t any old sport climb, but the one on which in 2013 a relatively unknown Alexander Megos clinched the world’s first 9a onsight.

Dufraisse visits Siurana regularly and in the past has redpointed some other hard routes here. In 2015 she repeated the 8c+ Chikane while in 2012 she got to grips with La Reina Mora 8c+/9a, only a few weeks after having repeated Patinoso 8c+.

Last year the Frenchwoman gave Estado critico some serious attempts but was forced to abandon these due to competition commitments. Yesterday though, as she herself stated "I went climbing with my love of climbing and without asking myself too much questions, and I had the chance and the pleasure to concretize one big project."
