Watching Adam Ondra climb is always exciting. Planetmountain.com got the opportunity to see him in action at the start of September when the 27-year-old visited the beautiful Italian Garda Trentino region, and Ondra immediately hopped onto Beginning, the route freed by Stefano Ghisolfi right after the lockdown at Eremo di San Paolo, the tiny crag close to Arco.
Ghisolfi has suggested 9a/+ for this connection of the cruxes of St Anger and Zauberfee, but during his quick first go Ondra discovered an improbable kneebar, thanks to which he sent the route second go. A pretty tough 9a was Ondra's comment immediately after the send, thanks to that unexpected kneebar. Here's the lowdown.
