35th Memorial María Luisa Photo Contest winners revealed

The Grand Prize of the 35rd edition of the Maria Luisa Memorial Photo contest was awarded to Rajarshi Banerji for his photo entitled 'Black panther under the stars'. The competition attracted 18,684 photographs and 199 films entries by 1,590 registered photographers from 95 countries.

The jury, after evaluating the 18,684 photographs and 199 films submitted to the contest by 1,590 registered photographers from 95 countries, has carefully reviewed the entries, selecting those that are technically outstanding and visually striking, resulting in a collection of truly memorable images.

Fifteen major awards and nine honorable mentions were granted across the contest's fifteen categories. Among the winners, Black Panther Under the Stars by Rajarshi Banerji (IN) stood out. In addition to winning the Biodiversity category, it was awarded the absolute prize: the 35th Memorial María Luisa, Fundación Cajastur Grand Prix. Among young photographers under nineteen years of age, the prize went to Maksymilian Paczkowski (PL).

The World of the Tiniest (Macro Photo): Imre Potyo (HU)
Topic of the Year: The Portrait: Natnattcha Chaturapitamorn (TH)

In the videos, films, and documentaries category, the absolute winning film, awarded the Photo Ruano Grand Prize, is Unwavering by Chris Schmid (CH). In this category, the jury also awarded nine thematic awards and ten honorable mentions.

This extraordinary collection of photographs can now be viewed online at www.memorialmarialuisa.com, as well as on Facebook, Instagram, and video platforms. However, the best opportunity to enjoy these images will be during the outdoor exhibition and audiovisual events organized to commemorate this edition, alongside the awards ceremony. These events will take place in Infiesto and Oviedo on May 16th and 17th.
