33rd Memorial María Luisa Photo Contest winners announced

The Grand Prize of the 33rd edition of the Memorial Maria Luisa Photo contest was awarded to Luis Vilariño López for his photo entitled Rayo Sobre Turret Arch.

The winners of the 33rd edition of the Memorial Maria Luisa Photo contest were announced on 1 March 2023 after the jury carefully evaluated a 17,035 photographs submitted by 1328 registered photographers from 83 countries.

Fifteen major awards and nine honorable mentions for each of the fifteen categories were assigned this year, with Rayo sobre Turret Arch by Luis Vilariño López winning both the Nature Landscapes category and this year's grand prize.

The remaining winners are: in the category Mountain Landscape, Armand Sarlangue (FR); Alpinism, Vegard Aasen (NO); Climbing, Marcin Ciepielewski (PL); in Adventure and Extreme Sports, Fabrice Guerin (FR); in the Mountain-Nature Man category, Shibasish Saha (IN); in Animal World, Yingping Li (CN); in The world of birds, Csaba Daróczi (HU); in Vegetal World, Norbert Kaszás (HU); in Submerged World, Csaba Daróczi (HU); in Biodiversity, Sergey Gorshkov (RU); Creative Photo, Tibor Litauszki (HU) in the World of the tinniest. Macro Photo, Rubén Pérez Novo (ES); and Africa photo, David Rouge (CH).

The Young Photographers categogy was won by Nichole Vijayan for his image "She Posed", while the Ruano Grand Prize for film and video went to "Skin of the jungle" by Cristóbal Serrano (ES). In this category, the jury also awarded another seven thematic awards and honourable mentions.
