Italian expedition summits Pumori and collects snow samples for scientific research
On 17 October an Italian expedition, composed of Michele Comi, Daniele Fiorelli, Fabio Salini and Daniele Bernasconi, successfully reached the summit of Pumori (7161m), the beautiful mountain directly opposite Everest.

Apart from reaching the summit, the team also collected snow samples along the route for scientific analysis in the highest laboratory in the world, the
Ev-K2-CNR Pyramid.

The team left Base camp at 22.00 on 16/10 and climbed past their Camp 1 (5800m) and Camp 2 (6200m) to reach the summit at around midday the following day. They took the snow samples and immediately started their descent, arriving back safely at Base camp at 22.00.
