Guide del Cervino

The Matterhorn Guides inform that due to some rockfall that took place recently on the Italian normal route, the Échelle Jordan ladder located on the Lion's Ridge, a few meters below the summit,  is currently inaccessible. To reach the summit of the Matterhorn, the guides have equipped a route to the left of the Jordan ladder: this area is not affected by the rockfall.

Please note that the situation is very delciate due to the current high temperatures. The rockfall has not in any way affected the mountaineers who  climb the Italian normal route on a daily basis. It is therefore advisable for climbers who have planned the ascent in the coming days to find out about the conditions on the mountain with the Matterhorn Office Guide, and to avoid the ascent in the hottest hours of the day.

For information, contact the Matterhorn Office Guide by e-mail at info@guidedelcervino.com or by phone +39 0166 948169 every day from 9-12 / 14.30-18. The office is closed on Monday morning and Thursday afternoon.
