The historic West Face of the Drus in the Mont Blanc massif is currently the centre stage of a new route being forged by the Chamonix-based High Mountain Military Group. Since early on Thursday morning Thomas Auvaro, Léo Billon, Jordi Noguere and Sébastien Ratel have been busy establishing a line up the magnificent wall which in the past has been subject to major rockfall. The four are over halfway up the face and, at present, "Tout va bien", everything is going fine. The first ascent is being broadcast live on youtube.
