After the recent rescue of Rick Allen on Broad Peak, the BBC has now published a brief interview with the leading British mountaineer and the moment he was identified by a drone by the Polish brothers Andrzej Bargiel and Bartek Bargiel.

According to the British newspaper The Independent, expedition members presumed Allen dead after having lost all trace of him following his fall on 9 July. On 10 July however the expedition cook spotted what he believed to be a rucksack high up on the slopes of Broad Peak. Later a drone was launched and identified that it was indeed Allen and that he was still moving. While the 65-year-old Scotman followed the direction of the drone, mountaineers in Camp 3 rushed to help him.
