Route

Lastun de Mareo is located on the south pillar of Muntejela de Senes, a truly spectacular location. To reach the start you need to make 6 abseils, preferably with a 60m rope, then you climb back up. It is a very particular route, first ascended on November 4th with my wife Marta Willeit. To the right of the route there's a crack and you could almost climb the entire route with just cams, but nevertheless we decided to equip the route with about fifteen bolts along the pitches, while all the belays are bolted.

Getting there

From St. Vigil / San Vigilio di Marebbe continue to Rifugio Pederü.

Access

From Rifugio Pederü, continue up to Rifugio Sennes (ideal with e-bike) and from here follow path #27 for a few hundred meters towards Muntejela de Sennes, then follow a not very obvious track north-west, similar to the winter ski mountaineering track, until you reach the foresummit of Muntejela de Sennes, or the Gran Col de Mareo, at 2621m. Up to here, calculate about 1 - 1 1/4 from the Sennes hut. From here, abseil 6 x 25 meters to reach the base of the climb.

Itinerary

P1: V/V+ 23m

P4: V+ 22m

Gear

60m rope, 8 quickdraws, 1 set of cams up to BD 3
