Short but splendid crack climb up Mount Arista above Sardinia's Perda ‘e Pera beach. Five-star surroundings!
Getting there
From Cardedu drive to Marina di Cardedu and continue towards Coccorrocci. Before the turnoff for the beach Perda ‘e Pera turn off right into the narrow lane and park below the tree. Access
Follow the signs for Monte Arista, up a well-marked path following the ridge (sun in the morning); somewhat tiring below the rocks. Reach a beautiful boulder with overhanging tafone, pass this on the right and enter the gorge formed by a huge boulder. Climb up a series of metal steps and enter a beautiful grove at the base of the last vertical and overhanging step. The route starts here, in the woods (45 minutes from the car). Itinerary
P1: 2 bolts, 6c (15m)
P2: S2, 3 bolts, 6a+ (30m)
P3: S3 2 bolts, 6b (15m).
P4: S4, 2 bolts, 6a+ (20m). Descent
Two 35m abseils down the rappel line Gear
In-situ gear: bolt belays, some bolts along the pitches. Gear: a set of cams to #3BD, slings, one 80m rope or two 60m half ropes, helmet. For a greenpoint ascent take double set of cams to #4BD
