Concert at Corvara for Nepal
”The local situation is not hopeless as you might think" wrote Cominetti "The earthquake has certainly affected some areas and resulted in thousands of victims, but there are plenty of other areas that are intact and that can be visited completely normally. It was the nigh terrorist news provided by our terrible national media that frightened off tourists / trekkers, but in particular after the earthquake, Nepal needs tourists, so as to not to find itself even worse off.
These words simply wish to be an honest report from Kathmandu and the Annapurna region where I have just guided a group of 2 families along with my thirteen year old daughter.
Had I considered the situation dangerous we certainly wouldn’t have gone, but instead we were practically the only western tourists out and about, both at Kathmandu and Pokhara and out there trekking.
On 14 August at Bar Lago in Corvara, Alta Badia, I’ll give a concert with my band Frozen Rats to raise money for Nepal. It won’t be anything like George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh, but anything we manage to raise will certainly be better than nothing. "
