Melloblocco 2015 - the eve of the twelfth edition

It’s time for Melloblocco, time for the most important bouldering meeting in the world. Four days - from 30 April to 3 May 2015 - that for the past 12 years have united thousands of climbers and nature lovers in Italy’s Val di Mello and Val Masino.
They will gather from all of Italy and from all over the world. They are the "Melloblockers". Thousands of young, extremely young and evergreens of climbing and bouldering who will give life to Melloblocco 2015. The international climbing meeting begins on Thursday, 30 April and ends on Sunday 3 May. Four days during which Val di Mello and Val Masino come alive with the love for climbing of thousands of men and women. This event has transformed into a must-do meeting, an almost collective ritual that has repeated itself for the last 12 years. This is what Melloblocco is all about. A free and intense gathering that expresses the joy of climbing surrounded by fantastic nature and, at the same time, the desire for freedom.

Over 2,400 climbers have already said 'I'll be there." But, as always, many others will continue to register and even more will tag along. They’ll be awaited by the valley with its soaring cliffs and its boulders that have "fallen from heaven". There will be endless climbing sessions with a thousand problems to be solved and sent. Those "ancient" and those brand new, discovered and prepared once again by the organisers for the great champions’ climbing competition. In addition, there are the three new circuits of varying difficulty that lead from one boulder problem to the next across the valley and on a climbing journey to discover not only the history of bouldering, but also purest beauty. A true journey devised for the bouldering and climbing "tribe" that unites champions with enthusiasts of all ages, beginners and even the youngest of all.

As always it will be a climbing marathon that never ends. Both on the rocks and during every moment of the day. There will be time for encounters, those that are only ever done at Melloblocco. And also time for partying, for films about and for climbing. They’ll be evening shows with the champions (once again plenty will show up), the very same who, all day long, will climb alongside everyone else. They’ll be time to try the latest climbing shoes and gear. Time to listen to and play music. Time to dance and moments of solidarity. But also time to do yoga together or talk about nature. Cars will be left in the parking lot and everyone will continue on foot or by shuttle buses. The time will come to look at the moon and the stars. To admire the rock faces. And the time will come to dream… of climbing and everything else worth dreaming about.
