From the 10th to the 12th of May professional and amateur photographers from all over Europe will gather in Arco, Italy, and compete for two days in order to find the best climbing photo. Two days during which athletes and photographers will search for the photo taken on the rock faces in the Garda Trentino region that best describes the athleticism, but also the landscape and everything that revolves around climbing - from physical effort to smiles, from sunsets to beers. In short, a story that recounts the love for climbing and for photography.

The professional photographers who will compete in search of the best climbing photos from 10 to 12 May 2019 in Arco, Italy, come from four different European countries. The confirmed line-up is as follows: Giovanni Danieli, Graziano Galvagni, Matteo Mocellin, Thomas Monsorno, Matteo Pavana and Federico Ravassard from Italy, Rainer Eder from Switzerland, Klaus Fengler and Ryu Voelkl from Germany and Rus Vakrilov from Russia. They will be joined by numerous famous climbers.

The best photograph of the Open category will receive a prize of € 500, while the best photos of the Pro category (each team must submit 4, which will be evaluated as a whole) will be rewarded with € 1500. Second and third place will receive gear prizes. Registration for the OPEN category is still possible via the www.arcorockstar.it website.

Arco Rock Star 2019 is partnered for the second year in a row by La Sportiva, who has been supporting climbers since 1928. This partnership confirms La Sportiva's interest in telling a story of the vertical world using photographs. La Sportiva is joined by Garda Trentino, f-stop Gear, sestogrado.it and Vertical Life

The event takes place within the Adventure Days, the International Festival of exploration. The eighth edition will be held from the 10th to the 12th of May in Garda Trentino: adventure and shows, activities and meetings with great travelers, adventure lovers and explorers will meet to share stories, experiences and passions. On stage, every night, great explorers and international alpinists. The Best Adventurer award, assigned in the past to Simone Moro, Alex Bellini, Hervé Barmasse, Danilo Callegari, Francesco Sauro and Adam Ondra, will go to Stefano Gregoretti. The explorer from Riccione, who is about to publish his first book, is back from an important winter expedition to Kamchatka, an experience that put him in front of the deep climate changes of the great North. The Award for Best Storyteller, that is to say the person who has best exploited the art of narrating exploration and adventure, goes to the writer and radio voice Michele Dalai who, with the broadcast Ettore and his podcasts, has been in able to narrate small and large human events, making them engaging and exciting. The UP2U award, linked to environmental issues, will be given to the National Geographic photographers Manuela Schirra and Fabrizio Giraldi, for their work on the rivers in the Balkans and on the damage caused by dams.
