APEX Awards 2002, the winners

The winners of the APEX Award 2002 were presented at Munich’s ispo a fortnight ago.
The APEX Award 2002 was presented at Munich’s ispo a fortnight ago. This prize, instituted by Malden Mills, is designed to encourage designers to create innovative products using Polartec fabrics.

A panel of judges selected 12 winners for the 4th APEX - "Award for Polartec Excellence" according to the categories "Next to Skin", "Thermal", "Weather Protection", "Footwear", "Accessories", "Military" and "Products for animal welfare".

Wini Jones - (President) Winner of numerous design awards and member of the Council Fashion Designers of America (New York).

Michael Hodgson – Award-winning American writer, has collaborated with numerous magazines in the fashion and outdoor sectors. Has published 18 books about the outdoors.

George Pessey – Creator of the famous French design studio "Jonathan & Fletcher", has contributed significantly to the development of technical apparel for extreme conditions and competitive sports.


Malden Mills
(Lawrence - Mass.) Founded in 1906 and inventor of the revolutionary Polartec fabric for technical outdoor clothiing.
