Rovereto 2006: male qualification results
Male qualification: Fischhuber ahead of Julien, Meyer and the maginficent Calibani and Ghidini.
After a marathon 7 hour qualification round Kilian Fischhuber clearlydominated the 58 man field. The current World Cup leader topped out on all 6 problems (needing 8 attempts) displaying complete control and precision throughout. As was to be expected, his closest rival Jerome Meyer finished hot on his heel with 6 tops in 10 attempts, while somewhat unexpectedly an extraordinary Stephane Julien finished provisional third. Former world champion Mauro Calibani celebrated his return to the competition arena with an impressive provisional fourth , ahead of Rovereto local Stefano Ghidini and Gerome Pouvreau.
