On paper flashing 8B+ boulder problem is currently the absolute limit of what climbers are capable of and a number of climbers have already achieved this feat. These include the likes of Daniel Woods (Entlinge, Murgtal, Switzerland, 2011), Adam Ondra (Jade, Rocky Mountain National Park, 2015), Jimmy Webb (The Globalist, Finland, 2016) , Ned Feehally (Trust Issues, Rocklands, South Africa 2017), Jakob Schubert (Catalan Witness the Fitness at Cova de Ocell, Spain 2018, Never Ending Story at Magic Wood, Switzerland, 2020), Will Bosi (Charizard, Sklapsko, Czech Republic and The Dagger, Magic Wood, 2022).

Britain's Aidan Roberts added his name to this non-exhaustive list with his flash ascent of Nalle Hukkataival's Momentum in Val Bavona last season. Just a few seconds of total control, as documented in this video. And while 8C boulder flash has never been achieved before, what not too long ago was absolutely inconceivable no longer feels that far off.
