Watch Adam Ondra freeing Bomba 9b at Arco, Italy

In 2012 Adam Ondra bolted "A perfectly cut, steep and exposed line in the vicinity of Arco, with perfect blue and grey limestone and impeccable tufas". At the time the route was far too hard, but a decade later the Czech climber returned "with a new perspective and experience" and in February he managed to first establish the slightly easier variation Bombardino, then free the original line. Graded 9b, Bomba currently ranks as one of the hardest sport climbs in Italy.
