Rock Junior 2007 increasingly international
On 9 -10 June a record VI edition of the Rock Junior will take place in Arco (Garda - Trentino): more than 500 climbers aged 5 - 13 representing 18 nations are expected at the Climbing Stadium for the only Youth Climbing Festival in Europe in which children and their parents are united by this passionate climbing game.
The eve of the Youth Climbing Festival in Arco (Garda – Trentino) is superlative. On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June more than 500 climbers aged 5 - 13 are expected at the Climbing Stadium for largest Youth Climbing Festival in Europe. Over the last 6 years this event has become increasingly important and international, and this year an impressive 18 nations will be represented.
As always Rock Junior is a party to which all are invited. Young athletes with their European squads will take part as will, importantly, all youngsters aged 5-13 and their parents (beginners and experts alike) who want to spend two days discovering the climbing game.
These young climbers will be greeted by a special guest, Flavio Crespi. Crespi is one of Italy's finest sports climbers, a member of the Police Sports Squad and the only Italian to have ever won the Climbing World Cup. He will join forces with the Mountain Rescue and the Mountain Guides who have guaranteed safety in the Rock Junior game since the outset. And as usual the routes have been prepared by Leonardo Di Marino and Donato Lella, the official route setters for the Rock Master, the oldest and most important sports climbing competition in the world.
Rock Junior is a unique opportunity to get to learn about climbing and nature in Children will take part in Play & Climb and play on the bouncy castles, suspension bridges and climbing tests which reproduce tree climbing. In the Climbing Campus they will explore Arco's nature and rocks together with the Mountain Guides. The youngest will compete in the Kid's Rock, while children, mothers and fathers will compete in vertical relay races. And the best European Youth Squads will compete in the Under 14 Cup. This is what the Rock Junior is all about - having fun climbing together.
