Melloblocco has sent out its call, and the boulderers have answered... The numbers speak for themselves: with less than a week to go, over 1200 climbers have already signed up for the 4th edition of the Melloblocco. The answer to Melloblocco's success probably lies in the desire to climb, travel, enjoy the outdoors, party... the list is a long one. But perhaps finding the real reason isn't that important after all: 1200 (and probably more) "I'll be there" explain a great deal!

Organisation news. Many already know that this year the Val Masino council has taken the helm from the Lombardy Mountain Guides and is responsible for organising the event. The logistics and the spirit of the meeting remain unvaried though, with the historic team (comprised of Nicolò Berzi, Michele Comi and Nicola Noè) supervising proceedings. This is an important sign of increased involvement on behalf of the territory, which will increase attention and synergies between Val di Mello and Val Masino. At the same time, it is also official recognition of the importance of climbing and bouldering in the valley.

Melloblocco 2007 news. The news can be summed up as follows:

a) The "playground" doubles in size with the inclusion of a new and beautiful bouldering area. 200 new problems have been set by Simone Pedeferri (a guarantee for 3 star problems of all shapes and sizes...) which added to the existing problems tally 400 for 2007.
b) Bouldering is a beautiful activity which respects the environment. Cars must be kept parked, let's use the shuttle buses up into the valley.
c) Saturday night's party will be held at Camping Sasso di Remenno. It promises to be unique. No need to say more.
