Mauro Calibani, bouldering tour in Sardinia, Corsica and Col del Lys

Mauro Calibani, sends boulder problems in Sardinia, Corsica and Col del Lys. Of note are "Squalo 3-3D" 8a+ at Punta di Capineru (Corsica) and "Icaro" 8a at Col del Lys
The Italian Mauro Calibani, renowned for his hard bouldering, has struck again. On his most recent trip to Sardinia he sent "Utopia" 7c+, a beautiful project he’d been keen to complete ever since laying eyes on it at Orani. He then went on to free "Beirut" 7b+ at Sarule.

A few days later he caught the ferry and travelled to Corsica, where he climbed the new and fantastically enticing "Squalo 3-3D" 8a+ in a day. On his return to "the continent" he found time to travel north to Col del Lys where, under the guidance of Marzio Nardi, he repeated the explosive "San Tommaso" 7c. In just a few attempts he then sent "Eurostar" 8a, a boulder problem which made history recently as it saw its first Italian female ascent at the hands of Anita Manachino.

A few days later and despite poor weather conditions Mauro repeated Italy’s first 8a boulder problem, "Icaro" at Trana, first climbed by none other than Marzio Nardi himself many moons ago. Mauro’s comment, on having repeated the problem, was short but convincing: “for me this one's really hard…”
