Project Big, the huge outing at Flatanger in Norway bolted in 2013 by Adam Ondra, is no longer a project. A few minutes ago Jakob Schubert successfully linked this huge power and endurance fest, completing it after two months of effort and after getting really close to the redpoint a few days ago. Yesterday the 32-year-old Austrian rested and today, despite 20 hours of incessant rain, the conditions in the cave were surprisingly good.

As in recent days, Schubert's efforts were broadcast in live streaming, and now one of the most impressive lines in the cave awaits both a name and a grade. The recently crowned Lead World Champion descended only a few minutes ago so it'll take some time to find out more, meanwhile it is safe to say that "the biggest mental battle I've ever had in my career" is also his hardest first ascent to date.
