24-year-old French rock climber Hugo Parmentier has repeated Le pied à Coulisse, the 8C boulder problem at Fontainebleau in France put up by Guillaume Glairon Mondet 2016. Parmentier needed about 5 sessions this year plus a couple two years ago, and described his send as "a childhood dream to climb 8C and a stepping stone in my climbing."

Parmentier made headline news in 2020 when he made the first repeat of Eagle-4, the 9b sport climb at St. Léger du Ventoux in France freed by Adam Ondra in 2018, and this 8C send is demonstration of the Frenchman's ability to excel in various disciplines.

Writing to planetmountain.com after his 11 March send, he explained "It's been hugely satisfying to have experienced the ascent during a highly successful climbing weekend. I did my first 8A+ flash the day before, and now my childhood dream has come true. This is the result of several years dedicated to bouldering; about 4 or 5 years ago, I started to target my weaknesses in order to take my climbing to a different level, and not only work on lead climbing. Although it’s a cliché, I really am learning to appreciate this path, to deal with failures and frustrations, to fully savour the successes. To realise how lucky I am and also to be aware of where my decisions are taking me!"
