Quick update from the Italian crag Covolo hidden away in the Vicenza foothills where last Tuesday young Giorgio Bendazzoli redpointed his first 8c, Nagay. The route had been freed by his trainer (and former Lead World Champion) Dino Lagni in 1992 – seven years before Bendazzoli was born therefore – and comes in wake of recent successes such as Tiscali, his first 8b+ earlier this month and victory in the Under 16 Youth World Championship at Edinburgh in June.
