Adam Ondra on Terranova, 8C+
Vojtech Vrzba
This clip is currently making the rounds on the internet; realised by Reel Rock, it documents Adam Ondra climbing two extreme boulder problems, Terranova and Gioia. Terranova was discovered and freed by Ondra in November 2011 at Moravsky Kras in the Czech Republic and at the time it marked a step forward, as the name suggets, for Ondra's bouldering and more. So much so that it still lies unrepeated. A month later Ondra managed to carry out the first - and to date only - repeat of Gioia, the masterpiece discovered and first climbed in 2008 at Varazze in Italy by Christian Core. At present this is the world's only confirmed 8C+ boulder problem. If you want to see just how small these crimps are, and how much you need to suffer to climb a problem this difficult, watch this video.
