arch. FB D. Nardi

Update at 10:45 on Thursday 7/03/2019
An important update this morning, just published on the FB page of Daniele Nardi. Developments will unfold in due course.
"Alex has informed us that yesterday from base camp he identified two shapes on the mountain; as of this morning at dawn, they are operating to carry out in-depth observations of the face.
Upon arrival of the helicopters, which are expected soon, an exploration will be launched up the Mummery Rib in order to make close-up evaluation of some images seen through the telescope.
Thanks to all those who are actively participating in the search for Daniele and Tom, in particular the mountaineers on Nanga Parbat, and an infinite thank you to all of YOU who are supporting us with help and so much affection."

Unfortunately, even today the search on Nanga Parbat to find traces of Daniele Nardi and Tom Ballard has proved fruitless once again. This morning the group of rescuers coordinated by Basque mountaineer Alex Txikon examined the Kinshofer route, a line which could have been used by Nardi and Ballard, even if their main objective was the nearby Mummery Spur.

The news was confirmed on the FB page of Daniele Nardi, that explaines: "After Alex Txikon's search of the Kinshofer Route this morning that did not result in positive news, the climbers focused their attention on the Mummer Rib from base camp through a telescope. The search will continue tomorrow morning."

Tomorrow therefore the search continues for the two climbers who have not been heard from since Sunday 24 February.
