Makalu 2001, the presentation
The "Aquile" Mountain Guides officially present their expedition Makalu 2001 on17 March 2001 at the Auditorium di Primiero
On Saturday 17 March the "Aquile" Mountain Guides from San Martino di Castrozza and Primiero will officially present their expedition Makalu 2001 at the Auditorium at Primiero. Details of their planned ascent will be discussed and it will be an opportunity to get to know members of the group before they depart for the Himalaya. Sponsors and alpinists will also be present, including the Italian Himalayan veteran Sergio Martini who has scaled all fourteen 8000m peaks. The presentation of Makalu 2001 will also touch upon the historic Aquile expedition which, on 4 May 1976, reached the summit of Dhaulagiri. And the spirit of the Mountain Guides from San Martino di Castrozza and Primiero is still that of 25 years ago: theirs shall be a journey towards the summit, an intense experience to be shared and confronted together. On the occasion San Martino di Castrozza and Primiero will host journalists, offering them the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of its valleys, which with over 160km of pistes and the Natural Park Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino is one of the most important and beautiful in the Dolomites.
