Latok I: updates about Alexander Gukov rescue attempt
The latest updates concerning the attempt to rescue Russian mountaineer Alexander Gukov, trapped at 6200m altitude on Latok I (7145 m) in Karakorum.

News just in from rescue coordinator Anna Piunova of www.mountain.ru, about the attempt to rescue Russian mountaineer Alexander Gukov, trapped at 6200m on Latok I (7145 m) in the Karakorum after the death of his climbing partner Sergey Glazunov.
This morning at 05:00 the helicopter failed to lift off due to bad weather, and currently the rescue team is waiting for the weather to clear up to be transported to Latok I base camp. As is comprehensible in these emergency situations there has been some confusion about the rescue team. Adam Bielecki is not involved, but Italian mountaineer Hervé Barmasse who is at Gasherbrum II base camp together with David Göttler.
