Grignetta d'Oro: the big list of 41 Italian alpinists

41 alpinists have been selected for the "Big List” of the Grignetta d'Oro, the Italian mountaineering award that goes to the Italian mountaineer whose climbs in 2013 and 2014 have most left their mark. The award will be celebrated on Friday 22 May at Lecco.

The work group of the prestigious Italian mountaineering award Grignetta d’Oro has selected 41 Italian alpinists for their outstanding ascents in 2013 and 2014.

Composed of the members of the jury and journalists, the work group has taken into account over 270 ascents. The jury has stated that "the award will go to an alpinist, for the vision and climbs during the period 2013-2014, focusing, where necessary on quality rather than quantity of ascents".

The jury is composed of: Rolando Larcher, Rossano Libera, Simone Moro, Valery Babanov, Vinicio Stefanello Jury President Mario Conti.

The names of the finalists will be announced early next week. The evening celebration will begin at 21:00 and will be presented by journalist and writer Alessandro Filippini.
