In 2014 Italy’s Matteo Della Bordella and Swiss mountaineers Silvan Schüpbach and Christian Ledergerber made the first ascent of The Great Shark Hunt, a huge route up the immense northeast face of Shark's Tooth in Greenland. Difficulties up to 7b+, established alpine-style, on-sight, without fixed ropes, with two bivouacs and just two bolts in 900 meters. Not content, the trio then climbed another two new routes.

Adding to the climbing difficulties was the fact that the expedition was carried out by fair means, with the "approach" and return by kayak, ie over 400km navigating "past beautiful, at times disturbing, icebergs and seals". The enterprise was documented in the film The Great Shark Hunt: Climb and kayak in Greenland which goes online this evening on the Ragni di Lecco youtube channel at 8.00 pm
